Interior Designer

We are seeking passionate, experienced interior designers who enjoy working in a culture that emphasizes creative interdisciplinary collaboration.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of professional interior design experience in commercial and high-end residential projects.

The interior designer is responsible for designing, directing, and coordinating projects with minimal direction and oversight, as well as mentoring and directing staff and handling client requests and relationships. They will work directly with the Principal and Lead Designer of particular projects. A knowledge and interest in all aspects of interior design is preferred, as well as a desire for professional growth and development. It is preferred that candidates are immediately available and able to work directly with project teams in a flexible workplace environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Documentation of project existing conditions through site surveys and scans
  • Prepare and develop architectural documentation in 2D drawings & Building Information Models
  • Work with principal and lead designers to develop project design concepts
  • Create professional and compelling visual presentations of design concepts
  • Manage all aspects of a project including budget and schedule, from programming to design to implementation, ensuring the quality and accuracy of each project through to completion
  • Source and specify interior finishes, lighting, appliances, plumbing fixtures and furnishings
  • Manage the construction administration process for projects by providing site supervision with a focus on maintaining design intent and quality control
  • Prepare for and participate in project installation, styling and photography
  • Prepare client presentations and proposals
  • Coordinate, lead and document client meetings
  • Prepare weekly client updates
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors and fabricators
  • Mentor and direct junior team members

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited program or a degree in Architecture
  • Five plus years of experience in high-end Residential, Workspace, and Boutique Hospitality projects
  • Exceptional skills in Revit, AutoCAD, and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Respectful, clear and professional communication skills dealing with clients, contractors, consultants and vendors with the ability to maintain a calm demeanor in high pressure situations
  • Experienced in the production of Construction Documents
  • Experienced in the process of Construction Administration
  • Basic knowledge of building codes and ADA guidelines
  • Ability to mentor, manage and direct junior staff members
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a passion to produce outstanding results
  • Meticulous with details while managing many projects
  • Able to travel for site reviews, field surveys, product markets, and project installations
  • Ability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week but 40 hours is preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional License in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Experience in Rendering programs such as Enscape
  • Ability to design custom millwork and furniture
  • Strong hand sketching abilities
  • Robust knowledge of architectural materials, interior finishes and furniture
  • Understanding of and experience in budgeting for Architectural and Interior Design projects
